It has been 4 months since the Aegis was lifted by team OG, the defending TI champion and still the reigning one. We might have forgotten the chaotic skirmishes in-game and their well-executed teamplay and fights all throughout the tournament but one thing is for certain, we remember to keep watch on any update on when True Sight: TI9 will be released.
True Sight is a documentary set and focus mainly on the last 2 teams that survived the tournament and had climbed their way up the ladder to lift the Aegis of Immortal. It is a film that features live reactions from players themselves. From making mind-boggling picks and bans inside the booth, their authentic responses on their loses and mistakes, and of course, to cherishing their triumphant victories. Winning TI is legendary, however, what seals the title of being champion is when you are featured in True Sight.
Valve’s True Sight: TI9 premiered January 28, 2020 at Berlin, Germany. This was attended by both Team Liquid (now known as Nigma) and the undefeated champion OG. It is an hour and 22-minute long that is full of nostalgia for players and fans alike. Just like previous documentary made, the production value is always top notch and the cinematography per pivotal moment in each series is on-point and jaw-dropping. In the first match, we had a different view on how Tide Hunter’s ravage looks like. Second match goes to Ember Spirit chasing Templar Assassin in mid lane as Monkey King mischievously waited in the tree to finish TA’s struggle. For the third match, another scene-stealing moment from Monkey King as he canceled Tide Hunter’s teleportation towards the base in the top lane. And for the final match, IO’s upgrade was highlighted as he rushed his level 15 talent via tomb and meet the courier halfway and then rejoined his team in the teamfight.
True Sight: TI9 has 2 versions uploaded online. You can choose to watch it undisturbed or be distracted by watching it together with OG and Liquid as they comment on the film and their-selves as it rolls. I would highly suggest to watch the actual True Sight first and then the ‘players review’ after. Anyway, whichever version it is, you will surely enjoy the show to the fullest. It is overpowered with emotions, all sorts of them. You will laugh on their banters, the spamming of chatwheels and even their goofiness in the series. To balance it out, you will also cry as you see W33 and Kuroky’s emotional moments and be carried away by Notail’s gentle heart as he cried for his rival’s defeat while watching the True Sight with them.
