The feeling of nostalgia will kick end as the show comes to a finish. This emotion will dominate above all emotions when we know that this TV series is showing its final season and last episode. Please note that there is a massive difference in knowing a season-ender episode and a final season episode. The latter is accompanied by a realization that something we love and followed for years, season by season, will soon be off air and be gone for good. We will surely miss the anticipation of its new season, the jolly interactive press conferences of the stars, the hyped promotions and nail-biting trailers, the grand season premier, the in-between twists and sometimes plot loopholes and the ever questionable cliffhanger ending.
With all of that said, this post is clearly about TV series that have ended either this year or past years. Having little to no choice but binge-watch a series, I had finished quite a few in my list. Anyway, I will just be listing the TV series that I have been following and feels like they never fail their loyal followers. Spoilers can be read, be advised.

Who does not love The Originals? I bet no one. That is why they got pulled out and became a hit spin-off spanning for 5 terrifying bloodbath seasons. The Mikaelson’s are the first vampire ever existed in Julie Plec’s vampire universe series. A century-long story of hatred, love, betrayal, acceptance and family. Hats off to The Originals ensemble of casts, the extremely cringe-worthy episodes and the most deserve ending ever. Watching the ending is truly bittersweet as each of the Mikaelson’s got what they all wanted for so long. The scene really did a great deal on me and made me want to long for more of them yet I understand that their time had come to an end.Nevertheless, their ending is by far the best so far.

The world of vampire has nothing but pure enjoyment to my part. The series that bred ‘The Originals’ and a small screen version of the Twilight saga took the number 2 spot on my list of series with great ending. Though, I feel like the improvised ending on season 6 where Nina Dobrev decided to part ways with the show was like some sort of an ending for me, but this does not stop the story to progress for another 2 season. While Elena’s presence for season 7 and 8 was just the mere mention of her name, she is undeniably the reason why we look forward for a happy ending. Luckily, we did get the fairytale ending when Elena showed up in its last episode, the closure all fans had wished for.

ABC’s Thank God It’s Thursday murder-drama, How To Get Away With Murder falls on my third list. The show opened up a lot of sensitive topics from racism, sex and political issues. This thrilling drama about murder and cover ups will leave you on the edge of your seats. Unfortunately, we bid goodbye to our fierce professor Annalise Keating on May 14, 2020 as it aired its last episode. What makes the ending special was the fact that Annalise redeemed herself and ultimately won the legal battles connecting her to the string of murders in its entire 6-season run.

Helmed and crafted by the brilliant mind of Shonda Rhimes, Scandal is another TV series that had never left us hanging and ended with a big bang. This political thriller is one of a kind because of its ensemble cast and overkill acting. Scandal catapulted its cast names to stardom, into the constellation of stars. The high rating it garnered per episode and the chilling and intense dialogues thrown at your TV screen. One of the shows that changes the viewing habit of its audiences and is part of the Thank God Its Thursday line-up.
Conclusion:
Cliche as it may seem, but endings are truly just the beginnings. We will just have to accept the fact and feel a bit melancholic for some time and then embrace new shows without prejudice. What is important is that our favorite TV shows never left us hanging and they got what they deserve, to close a wonderful chapter in TV history to pave way for new ones. For an avid follower, an overwhelming feeling of satisfaction will cover your soul as they put a halt on the story. And if we feel that way, how much more the cast and producers of the show, it must be an honor for them to officially finish and farewell to their program.
